A BRICK BREAKER BUILT FOR RIVALRIES

    SHARED MIDDLE

    Six seats around one ring, and everyone shares the middle. You reach it by breaking your own shield, not somebody else's.

  • 02

    CLIMB AND FALL

    Break through and your paddle moves forward onto the ring, where the big scores are. Your shield up top takes eight hits; when it falls, you go back home.

    ROCKETS

    Hold, drag onto a rival, let go. Up top they lose their shield; at home they lose a life.

    FOUR MINUTES

    Timed High Score runs a 4:00 clock; Last Player Standing runs until one seat has lives left. Either way, a match fits a bus stop.

HOW A MATCH GOES

    HOLD YOUR COURT.

    Bricks in front of you are yours. Break them for points; lose a ball past your paddle and you lose a life.

    Early in a match: your court at the bottom of the ring, a ball in play above your paddle, 1,880 points and 3:49 left

  2. 02

    ASCEND.

    Break through your own shield and your paddle moves forward onto the ring, where the big scores are — and where everyone can reach you.

    Ascended: your paddle forward on the ring with the shared middle in reach, first place with 14,728 points

  3. 03

    GET KNOCKED BACK.

    Your shield up top takes eight hits. When it falls, so do you: back home, fresh serve, try again.

    Descending in 2: your shield up top has fallen and you are about to be sent back home, 2:51 left

    One more ball, served the moment you catch it.

    A wider paddle, for a while.

  • REPAIR

    Mends your shield up top. Caught at home it is one extra life.

  • FIREBALL

    Your ball hits twice as hard for its next eight bricks.

    Your ball blasts the bricks around each one it breaks, for eight breaks.

  • ROCKET

    Hold, drag onto a rival, let go. Up top they lose their shield; at home they lose a life.
